As I said, those had been the destinations of my travel.

Zurich: I went there to meet with the national presidents of my term in AIESEC. So I spent very good moments with Aine (Ireland), Lars (Norway), Francois (France). Indeed there were few more people around and all together we had a lot of fun.

Then I moved to Pisa to stay a bit with my family and meeting with Michele. I was there with Pimpy too!

Third stop had been Malta. I'd never been there and I was so surprised! The sea is super, really, I couldn't imagine. As I wrote in previus post, I was there with Pimpy and two amazing hosts: Barbara and Alba. I felt like at home, thanks my friends.

And as last I went to Sicily to attend at Maria and Giuseppe's wedding. Above it a text: "VACATION!"

I'm counting down the days. So far 6 are missing until my summer holidays. Three amazing weeks of relax and friends.

Before talking about what will happen, I would like to stop on what happened one year ago. I was on a plane to NY with Michy. I was going to have maybe the best summer of my life... I miss so much it, every time that I think about NY I almost cry. I hope one day I'll go back there.

Anyway, this year will be much different.

FIRST PART: 3 days in Zurich for our WENA MCPs reunion. Last time was in Munich in 2007, that's quiet a long time. I'm so happy I'm going to spend some time with them, full immersion in memories and feelings.

SECOND PART: 4 days in Pisa. A sort of excuse to meet with my family and some friends. I'll be there with Pimpy (alias Matteo Orsi). Beaches, food, sleep. No more plans for it!

THIRD PART: 12 days in Malta, still with Pimpy. It will be my first time there, I'm so excited. I'll hosted by two special friends, Barbara and Alba, thanks in advance my dears. What will happen there? Parties, beaches, parties and so on! WOWOWOWOW

FOURTH AND FINAL PART: 3 days in Sicily. Maria, one of my best friends, is going to marry so I'll go in the island (it's quiet long time that I don't go there) to see some relatives and to enjoy that special moment.

This is the plan and this is most probably my last post before I come back in Milan at the end of August. So, I'm wishing you all the best for this special August.

Cheers and peace.

Update: my 2009 legacy and my current life

Hello fans,

it's been a long time, let's try to resume what happened, looking at my legacy (see Jan. the 2nd post).

Be hired in PwC as employer. --> I currently had my internship contract renewed until the end of November. It's quiet complicated to understand what will happen at the end of this period. What I know is that I'm trying to do my best. Despite that I'm still looking around for new opportunities, you'll never know...

To move some steps towards the company that I want to start in some years. --> Well, honestly I didn't do that much. I've shared my ideas with some friends and I've also defined the activities that I would like to run. I see it as a long-term project even if I would like to build some solid basis this year.

Be a volunteer for ABIO (Patch Adams) n.g.o. --> DONE! I finished with classes and now twice a month I go into a hospital in Milan to read fables and stories to children before they go sleep. It's an amazing experience, full of emotions and smiles. I'm incredible happy for what I'm doing.

To have a stable "love" life. --> I can say that I've never been so far from the word stable. No more comments to add.

Keep in touch with all the friends that I care the most and that are far from Milan. --> I'm doing it well with some friends, less good with others. In the past months I didn't do so much in order to get close to all of them, just few things (I'm not even writing so much in the blog...). I see many improvements for this area.

To practice sport regularly. Well, I can say that I did well. --> So far at least twice a week I went to play soccer or running or swimming. I can be satisfied, even if I can do more.

To make at least 3 travels abroad and to visit at least one place where I've never been before. --> So far: Wien and Prague, where I've already been before. Already planned: Zurich (I've already been there) and Malta (first time). That means that by the end of August the target will be achieved.

With these few information I gave also a good update about my life. What more? My life in Milan is going on extremely well, I strenght few more friendships, I'm involved in a soccer tournament and I usually hang out in the evening at least five times a week.

With Fede, my housemate, everything is going fine, I can't complain at all abut him.

Last: I wrote something about my summer vacation before. That's my final plan: Zurich (3 days), Pisa (3 days), Malta (12 days), Sicily (3 days). The most of it (Pisa and Malta) I'll be with Pimpy (Matteo Orsi). In any case, if you'll be around...

Cheers and peace!

Back from Butterflies meeting

I'm back! Here you're some graphic tips:

That was simply amazing, thanks my friends!

Cheers and peace!

Tomorrow Butterflies meeting in Sirmione!

One year had been passed since we met all together in Florence having good time and sharing memories and dreams about our future. Many things happened during these months and it will be absolutely amazing to meet again sharing all those experiences that we had.

What am I talking about? Pretty obvious: the AIESEC in Italy member committee members are going to meet tomorrow along Garda's lake!

This meeting is happening in a perfect moment of my life, right when I've so many questions with so few answers. I'm really looking forward for it and to see again all my dear friends.

Wish to update some feelings and pics of these 4 days next week.

Cheers and peace.

Happy Easter

Hello my friend,

right now I'm in Pisa to celebrate Easter with my family. I've met with some friends and still I've some to meet. Tomorrow I'll jump on a train to go back to Milan. In the end it was a short vacation, relaxing and eating a LOT!

Some updates. I've moved in the new house a month ago, it's super! Federico and me are sharing a room together and we have a kitchen and a living room (plus a bathroom of course!). The house is very nice and it's right in the centre of Milan and very close to my office.

Job, that's a nice subject. Time for my internship is getting over, just a month and a couple of weeks left. I hope that soon I'll be updated by PwC about my future and I also hope that the update will be positive. So far I've got very good feedbacks about my work and my approach, so I've faith about being confirmed and hired inside the company. By the way the financial crisis that we are living in this period doesn't make me feel comfortable and that positive. We'll see.

In the end my last thought goes to the people in Abruzzo (an Italian region) that had been living tremendous moments because of and earthquake: that tragedy was enormous, I've also cried because of that I hope from the really bottom of my heart that they will be able to rise up again and to start their lives.

Cheers and peace.

That's a leader

My second month in Milan

Hello my dear friends,

my second month in Milan is almost over. Many things happened during this period, I would say that all of them were very positive even if there are some negative aspects. Let's start with these last: mainly being so far from my hometown and be aware that it's going to be for a long time, is making me understand the really meaning of indeendency from family. The other side of the medal is that I do really miss my family and some friends there. Just during this week I've received some emails from relatives and friends telling me "I've many good news (or bad news) to tell you, but I want to do it face to face". That's pretty hurting because I'm missing a big part of life of the people that I care. I don't really know how to deal with it.

On the other hand, my life here is super. I'm out all the nights hanging out with friends or practicing some sport (I subscribed for a SPA, running, cycling and swimming). I went to some art exposition, cabaret shows,... That's super! I also like pretty muck my job and I think that my induction is going on very smoothly. My colleagues are vey nice and friendly, the atmosphere in the office is calm and relaxed with people smiling, I like it!

In a month I'll move from my current place and I'm going to leave in the centre of Milan with one of my best friend, Federico: we've already lived together in Milan while we were both in the national committee of AIESEC. That's another great new for me and I'm really looking forward for this change. Federico and me have been to Austria at the beginning of January for three days, we stayed in Salzburg for one night then in Wien for two. It was very nice, especially Wien is awesome! I hope I can upload some pics soon.

One last sad consideration: I've not any internet connec

tion at home, that's why I'm not really present on the blog and even in some other web spaces. In March I will change this too.

Well, that's pretty all for now, all the best to all of you!

Cheers and peace!

Cisco

My legacy for 2009

Happy New Year, that it will be full of joy, love and challenges!

I want to share with you all my legacy for 2009 in order to have you as judges of my actions and results. Life here had been very exciting and thriving. I'm doing many things everyday, right the opposite as it was before in Pisa.

I like very much my work, I'm learning very fast many things about Human Resources (I'm currently working in the HR team in PwC, focusing on recruiting and selection). I also like the team where I'm working in; they are all young and always smiling and welcoming. The atmosphere is positive and everyone is really happy and is deeply enjoying its time in the company.

I'm also having a very dynamic life out of the office. Almost every night I'm out of the house with my friends, either for a party or simply for a dinner. I like it so much because even if I feel pretty often tired, I'm feeling like I'm really enjoying my life and my time here.

As you can see I've started my new journey in a positive way and I know (and hope indeed) that my future will be even better and full of happy and challenging days.

Cheers and peace.

There's no much difference between living and leaving

That's my last day in Pisa, tomorrow morning I'll depart direction Milan. In few hours I'll be back in a city that hosted me for two years, with many memories and friends. I'll start a new life, with a real job which I've to adapt. I feel so excited about this change and I'm really thinking that in the end there's no much difference between living and leaving: tomorrow I'll leave to start living new experiences and feelings.

What I'm leaving behind is at the same time something very deep: my family as first, my city where I grown up, many friends both old and newies. I thank everyone for the nice time we had together: when I came back from Milan in July 2007, I was thinking that my time in Pisa was just about studying and get my final degree. In the end I got much more and I feel so grateful to all those people that made this year a very special and unforgettable one.

Cheers and peace!

Another inspiring man

I guess all of you heard about Randy Pash, former professor at Carnegie Mellon, that gave is last lecture before dying some months ago. I'm so happy and excited about this change and the new life that is appearing in front of me is making me thrive all the time that I think about it. New house (I'm searching for one in Milan, can any one help me?), new lifestyle, new friends (and of course and above all many old friends too!), a city where I lived before and keeps thousands of good memories, my first real job!

I'm trying to imagine how all this will look like, but I'm not really for dreaming, I'm more for living it! So, next week I'm going to Milan to find a place, my next house, and to arrange some basic stuff... that's not scaring at all, it's extremely exciting!

Cheers and peace!

p.s. I'm talking about Nelson Mandela and his book "Long walk to freedom" that I've just read.

It was incredibly inspiring, so full of emotions and feelings, so deep inside my heart and my mind. A great example of leadership and also an example for many people around the globe. I felt so proud that people like Mr. Mandela lived (and are still living) on this planet and dedicated their own life for a better world. I suggest everyone to run through this book and this life, it's breathless.

Cheers and peace!

Famous quote

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. After such a wonderful summer I've started my waiting time before start to work. I've sent some CVs and had some interviews but the financial situation is not really helping me in finding my place. All the big companies are stopping hiring because are afraid of budgets and crisis, so there's not a big offer of job.

What am I doing in the meanwhile? Well, not so much. I know that my future life will not be in Pisa anymore, so I can't start anything until I move. I just read a lot, doing some physical activity (like soccer or running), watching movies and finishing the internship that I've started in June. I'm feeling like I'm completely wasting my time and I'm feeling really far from what I want to do and what I want to be. That's such a mess and I can't really see the end of this.

Hopefully I'll have some feedbacks next week from my interviews and in case at least one of them will be positive, for sure my life will change: by the way until that moment I'll be lying in the hands of bore.

Cheers and peace!

Leaving New York: final part.

In a couple of hours I'll be on a bus (then a metro, then a train, then an airplane, then another airplane) to come back to Italy... But suddenly that day arrives and you can't do anything else then wrap up your experience.

What I've learn:

NY is a city of opportunities: if you've a dream and a good plan to make it happen, just do it!

NY is a stressful city, always running even if you don't have any reason to run.

NY is enormous, I guess there are no borders :-)

In US know how to do politics and how to live it, in Italy we are ages behind.

In US there's a highest spirit of ownership toward the country: everyone here feels proud to be American and the system pushes you (and actually enables you) to do your best to contribute to the American dream.

Americans are very loud, too much loud. They never relax, I don't like it!

In NY there are a lot of different ethnic groups (Blacks, south Americans, Chinese, Italians , Jewish, Gays and so on): they live together in peace and that's amazing. the city is very safe and everyone can really live his own life without being in troubles and being judged.

Boston is simply amazing.

In the end: I think that this experience was the best choice for me in order to understand many different things either about my self and a bit more about the world around me. I understood that if you really want to know a city you can't be a tourist but a citizen and it makes all the difference.
Now that I'm moving back to Italy I'm taking with me many good memories of places and people, a lot of thoughts and reflection moments about my future and what I want to do. I really hope that I'll be able to make my dreams happen even if far from this land of opportunities.

Cheers and peace!

Leaving New York: part 2

Hello from US! What's up with you? Missing me?

This post is not really about NY, well, it doesn't talk about NY at all. This week I've been to Boston where I spent 3 days. Some of Michele's relatives hosted us in their place, thanks to Katia and Giorgio. They are both immigrants from Italy, two amazing person that made me feel like at home: they took care of me, they cooked for me (when I talk about me, I mean us, Michele included). We eaten so much and everything was so good... Giorgio is a former chef in many restaurants, so you can imagine. He also cooked for us some great lobsters... amazing!

About the city: Boston is simply breathless, one of the most beautiful city that I've never seen. So quiet (also compared to NY), so full of green and water (there's the ocean and a river), it's not high (very few sky grapes) and it's full of brains: consider that there's Harvard, MIT, UMASS (University of Massachusetts) and many more great universities. While you walk around you can breathe fresh air that is something that I was actually missing. I'll never forget this city, I simply love it. There's not much to see (the JFK museum is super) but it's the perfect place to relax. You can see some pics of the travel below.

About the current situation: I've 4 more days in US, I think I'm going to miss many thing. The experience so far was beyond expectations with many learning points and experiences. If you have to choose something similar in your near future, go for it, you'll never regret.

Cheers and peace!

Leaving New York: part 1

The rent is over, this weekend we'll move back to Gianpy's place in Union City where we are going to spend the last days of our experience.

Next week we'll probably go to Boston to visit the city in order to see something different then the "Think Big and Be Big" of New York. So we are going to have few ore day in the city, still looking around and learning, because we should never stop to learn! Today we had the last laundry and in the afternoon we'll go again to Manhattan to buy the last things (touristic stuff mainly). We also expect to have a lounge night tonight in some particular cool place that Gianpy knows... we'll see!

Cheers and peace!

New New York: final part.

Here we are changing again the track of my travel. I still have around 10 days in the city in order to get the most out from the city. I've discovered a New New York during the last weeks and I saw many wonderful things, but it's time now to wrap up the experience: what did I learn?

Thanks to the Cranberries for having being the inspiration of the past 15 days, here you're the lyric of the song.

Cheers and peace!

New New York by The Cranberries

New, new new, ah, ah-ah ah
New, new new, ah, ah-ah ah
New new york skyline
Wounds they heal in time
Dont crawl and dont despair
Its a new new york today

------

I look across these city streets
My heart is numb, it still beats
Nothing to say
Theres nothing to say

I look across this empty room
My heart is still in bloom
Theres nothing to say
I only can pray

(chorus)

I look across these city streets
My heart is cold it beats
30th of may
Ground zero today

(chorus)

I get down on my knees and pray
For the heroes of the day
And no comfort I can find
For the loved ones left behind

They wont tear us apart x4
No way
New day
New day

New New York: part 3

More then a month here... wow, time had passed soooo fast that I can't believe. this experience is giving me a lot in term of experiences, personal development and self awareness.

The funniest is that after so long time in the city I'm not impressed any more. What am I talking about? Well, I'm not impressed by the girls (believe, they are beautiful), I'm not impressed by the sky grapes, by the skylines; i'm not impressed by the language and the size of the city. I'm not impressed by the 2 hours daily trip that I need to get to Manhattan and go back. All these don't impress me anymore, I'm completely used to it. I don't know if it's good or not, what I know is that I'm going to have a big shock once I'll be back in Pisa in 10 days! That's 100% sure! well, I can prepare to it during the next weeks.

Few flash news: we finally visited all the most turistic places in the city. We went to MoMa (Museum of Modern art), to the top of the Empire State Building, we went to Liberty Island (where the statue is) and to Ellis Island, we visited all Central Park and for sure much more that I can't remember. The city is continuing to show in front of our eyes with all it beauty and sometimes we still get surprised. There are a lot of wonderful views (looking NY from the top of the Empire is breathless) even if I definetly see that US is a country with a small history even if they are trying to pump it as much as possible.

This is also the good time to feel how Americans are leaving to important moment:

Olympics. Even if they are over now, I didn't see any celebration, anything. The event passed by very fast, the only thing that attracted a bit was the basketball team (of course I would say). Honeslty I was expecting something more.

Presidential run: here the theme is deeper. Obama vs McCain. Citizens are devided, are changing their minds pretty often from one side to the other. After Hillay Clinton speech and the attempt to Obama life of few days ago, I guess that the black candidate got many percentage points and now he is clearly leading the run, even if I guess McCain will now play some good cards. You can see people here going around with Obama's t-shirt... can you imagine soemthing lke that in Italy? People with Berlusconi's t-shirt... mmmm I don't think so! The mentality is very different and the run (at our eyes) is very fair. We should learn!

Well, that's all from the Big Apple. Below some more pics.

Cheers and peace!

New New York: part 2

It was simply incredible. Sunday morning we woke up at 7 (we went to sleep at 4) and we went to the beach. You know what? 4 hours trip to get to the seaside and it's still in New York! In 4 hours trip I can arrive from Pisa to Milan! That sounded incredible scaring to me: how big is this city??? By the way the beach wasn't anything so special, our are definitely better, especially in the south. In any case that was the Ocean and it changes everything. We went there with a nice group of international friends and we had a lot of fun: thanks guys!

On Monday it was working time: we went to the Giant Stadium (yes the temple of American football) for a football match. Few considerations about this sport:

Americans get absolutely wild for this sport and I don't honestly understand the reason! There are a lot of pauses (that's good for the vendors as I am) and it seemed to me to be more a show then a sport.

I didn't really understand the rules but I don't feel bad for it. The more interesting fact is that people look more at the videos inside the stadium then at the field and this is pretty strange: why are you going to the stadium???

New York is not as much expensive as I thought. Food is pretty cheap if you know where to buy it, and pretty tasty, even if it's poor of vitamins. What is very expensive is hanging out the night for a drink: you can see flying out of your wallet at least 50 dollars every time easily. In New York it's common to drink a lot, more then in Italy. People love to get drunk and have fun with friends and don't really care about money. Gianpiero was telling me once, that after a whole day working you don't care about preserving few dollars because you're so tired and stressed that you just want to have fun. I saw that it's definitely true.

About my New New York experience: I saw yesterday one of the most amazing view of a skyline in my life. Unfortunately I don't have pics of it. I was (with Michele of course) in Brooklyn just over the other side of the sea looking Manhattan during the sunset. All the sky was red and the skygrapes lights were turned on. It was amazing and breathless. I'll never forget about it. I felt to be in front of one of the most amazing places in the world, looking to an incredible city and I really felt, maybe for the first time, that in this city there's always, at any time, someone that wake up while someone else is going to sleep. That's really the city that never sleeps.

Cheers and peace!
