When AIESEC impacts on you..

I had the luck to have here in Milan for almost a week a special person, originally from Estonia, and now part of the AIESEC International Team: Mairi!

I remember of her for the first time in The Netherlands during International President Meeting: she was running for AI and she was passing through a difficult selection process. After showing her skills and motivation, she had been selected for being Director for WENA, one of the Growth Network in which AIESEC is divided. AIESEC in Italy is part of this GN and now she's our coach!

She arrived on Sunday in the morning quiet early and she stayed in MC place until Friday at lunch time. We had a lot of sessions with her that were very useful for our learning and for AIESEC in Italy.

What I want to talk about are not the sessions, but the nice talks that I had with her. The one that I remember the most is when we went on the top of Monte Stella talking about MCP (Member Committee President) role and the MC role. I understood so many things about AIESEC, about being a role model, about having to opportunities that I have.

I always feel lucky for the experience that I'm having, for the good moments that I'm sharing, for the friendships that I'm creating, for the travels around the world that I'm making. I can't really imagine my life without AIESEC in the past few years and I think, once that I'll finish this experience, that I'll never forget these 4 years.

I also understood that being an AIESECer is an honour and I'm very honoured to be part of AIESEC in Italy, to be the leader of a such great team, of this network of incredible individuals. I'm honoured because through my daily work I'm giving the chance to other people to live the AIESEC experience, to have an impact on the society, to live as leaders and change agents.

I understood that AIESEC is unique, that I'm unique, that the experiences that I'm living are unique. I don't want to miss a thing of the months that are dividing me from the end of my life in AIESEC, but I'm sure that my AIESEC life will never finish: I'm proud to be an AIESECer and I really want that thousands more people in the future will leave the same experience as me!

Every day like a butterfly I'm trying to make a better world, starting from making a better Francesco: this is my impact, this is my gift to the society.

  • Hi Cisco,

Remember the discussion we shared with a glass of beer before standing up in front of the whole OC, faci team and project manager to speak out our frustration?

I think that was one of the bravest and impactful moments in my AIESEC life. And how the whole conference just took off after that was amazing.

I'm really missing you buddy! You (and your stick) are such fun company to be with and yet you have the serious side. Take care!
